If you are an automaker — or a farm-implement manufacturer — you know Adrian-based Venchurs, which for 40 years has been a tier one supplier of logistics and supply-chain management services.
More recently, the company’s Venchurs Vehicle Systems has become a leader in converting pickup powertrains to run on compressed natural gas (CNG).
Two years ago, Venchurs launched VWerks, which specializes in providing vehicles for automotive enthusiasts, especially those who have off-road vehicles or pickups.
VWerks’ newest products are the Predator and Sabre, both of which will be available as turn-key vehicles through Ford dealerships.
Predator and Sabre both come out of Ford assembly plants as F-150 pickups, but then are enhanced by VWerks before reaching dealers’ showrooms.
The Predator provides the look of Ford’s 150-mile-per-hour off-road SVT Raptor, but without being quite so aggressive — or expensive, and that’s expensive not only to purchase but to insure.
